Since Google logo celebrated the Invention of the Bar Code on October 7, 2009, by replacing its regular logo by a bar code on it search pages, bar codes have suddenly evoked a lot of interest on Interest. Do you also want to have a free bar code for your name or for your organization’s name or for some other expression, like the one below for “Tech Superb”?
Well, there are several free online services which can prepare bar code of your name, etc., in just a few seconds!
These free online services can create linear bar codes for you using different Barcode symbologies such as Code 128, Code 39, UPC, Code 93, Code 11, and so on. These bar codes can then be saved as an image file in PNG or JPG format. These bar codes can be read by a barcode scanning machine. If you generate the barcode using the option “Also show human readable text under the barcode”, then just below the bar code, your name will also be displayed, as I selected in the above example for “Tech Superb”. However, you can unselect this option which means only the bar code will be prepared with no human readable name or text below that. In such a case, human beings won’t be able to decipher what is mentioned in a bar code, but a barcode scanning machine can read it immediately. And, that is what it is meant for.

(1) BarCodesInc : Just visit this site, enter the text for which you want to generate the barcode and press the Make me a barcode! button. That’s it! Your barcode will be generated which you save now on your computer in the form of a JPEG or PNG file. Have a look at their interface:
