This plugin is thus useful for those who feel that there is no need for the WordPress to automatically keep checking for updates every time you login to WordPress and the dashboard / plugin page is opened. This may slow down your dashboard loading. In fact, if you’re signing into WordPress dashboard several times a day, automatic checking of plugin updates may be unnecessary. Perhaps, one may check manually at regular intervals, of say a week, or at a time when there are news reports of some serious security threat. So, if you want to be in absolute control of your site and want to check for updates only when you need them, perhaps this plugin is for you.
