Google Chrome was launched for the Microsoft Windows more than a year back. Now, Chrome has been launched also for the Mac and Linux operating systems. Presently Chrome is in Beta version for these two operating systems. Moreover, Google has also supported the recently-launched extensions for the Linux version of Chrome; however, at this stage the Mac version of Chrome will not have extensions. It goes without saying that Chrome is absolutely free, like other browsers.

The Mac and Linux versions of Chrome are expected to be as fast as its Windows version. Other notable features of Chrome are safety and simplicity of design.
The first beta version for Mac does not, however, incorporate extensions, bookmark sync, bookmark manager, and cookie manager. But, otherwise, Chrome is fully a native application for Mac. The Mac version of Chrome will work on Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Intel only. It can be downloaded from here.

Likewise, the Beta version of Chrome for Linux also lays emphasis on speed, stability and security, and is fully integrated with the Linux ecosystem. The Linux version supports the browser extensions also that can extend its functionality in many ways. It has been developed as an independent application with the help of the open-source community. The Linux version of Chrome can be downloaded from here.

Have been having a play around with it for the last day and I have to say it really is as fast as hell! I had the same on the PC as well though in that I was using it and loving it but I always seem to end up back over on Firefox no matter what!
Surprised it ended up taking this long to get Chrome out for Mac. If it’s as fast for them as it is on Windows, they the wait was worth it.
