Google Reader makes it easy for you to read the feeds of various websites to which you’ve subscribed. You don’t have to visit those sites to read the latest contents on the subscribed sites. Google Reader, like any other reader of the similar type, aggregates the contents of your subscribed sites centrally so that you can view them with convenience and moreover, you should not miss any item on a favorite site. Now, in addition to your subscribed sites, Google Reader will also show you the popular items on the Internet in your interest areas. Moreover, another change made in Google Reader is that now your feeds can additionally be sorted on the basis of your personalized rankings.
These changes will help you to find out more interesting contents much faster and in the areas of your interest, and will thus improve your reading experience on the web.

With the introduction of Popular items and Recommended sources in Google Reader, it will now find top-rising images, videos and web pages from interesting content from all over the Internet, collect them in the new Popular items section. Thus the current popular items on the Internet in the areas of your interest should now automatically find place in your Google Reader in the Popular items feed. Moreover, the new Explore section will have another useful item, Recommended sources, making it easier for you to find interesting feeds, by providing you links on the basis of your Reader Trends and Web History if you’ve opted into it.

Furthermore, all feeds in Google Reader will now have a new sort option called “magic” to re-order various items in the feed based on your personal usage, and your overall activity in Google Reader, instead of the default chronological order. This new ranking is personalized for your own use of the feeds, and will get better with time as it learns from your usage of the Reader as to what you like best.
