However, there are times when the antivirus software installed on your computer is not able to detect a virus in particular file. Or, sometimes, it will give a report which you may find to be doubtful. Therefore, you may need to scan viruses using another software or at least to get the second opinion whether or not a particular file contains viruses. There are several good websites offering free online virus scanning for your suspected files. Kaspersky offers one such free online virus file scanner.
Kaspersky is one of the leading antivirus software companies. You can use Kaspersky Free Online Virus File Scanner to check a file or program for viruses if you find a suspicious file on your machine, or suspect that a program that you just downloaded from the Internet could perhaps be malicious. Click on the “Choose File” button to select a file on your computer and then click on Submit button to upload the file for virus scan.

This file will be scanned using Kaspersky Anti-Virus on the servers of Kaspersky. Since this website updates every three hours, it can detect even the newest viruses. Only one file of up to 1 MB can be checked at any one time. However, if you’ve several potentially suspicious files, you can check them for viruses using Kaspersky one after the other, or create an archive file (such as in zip format) and check that provided that the archive should not be larger than 1 MB in size.
