Certain web pages may contain some material or objects which are irritating and you may like to view / read that page without displaying those objects on that page. Or, you may be interested to print a web page without images or other objects (such as side-bar or video-frame) getting also printed. Nuke Anything is a small addon for Mozilla Firefox browser which can selectively remove or hide any item / part / object in a web page currently displayed in that browser. And it also allows you to take a printout of the web page without including those removed objects. It gives you full freedom to remove or hide any object selected by you from the web page currently displayed just by a single click from the context menu. And, it is absolutely free and very lightweight (only about 20 KB in download size).
When you install this add-on to your Firefox, it remains hidden from the screen and is visible only from the right-click context menu.
It may be pointed out that Nuke Anything does not remove the objects from that web page permanently; it is only temporary and meanwhile you can also take a print of the web page without including the removed / hidden objects in the printing. So, you’ll get a clean printing. Later on, when you refresh the web page, all objects of the web page will be displayed again.
Nuke Anything allows you to remove / hide objects from a web page in three different ways:
(1) Remove a single object at a time:
Remove a single object at a time. In this mode, you don’t have to select anything on the web page visible in Firefox. Simply right-click at any object or part of the web page that you want to remove. It can be any image, any text, any button, any video, or any heading, or almost anything visible on the screen. Once you right-click, the context menu will appear on the screen. It will show a command Remove this object which is meant for Nuke Anything (see the following image):

If you hover the mouse over this command for 1-2 seconds, the relevant object / part on the web page will be highlighted with a flashing rectangle to tell you which object / part on the web page will be removed if you click on this command. Now when you click on this command, that object or part of the web page will be immediately removed / hidden from the web page.
To demonstrate how Nuke Anything works, I am showing the following picture from a part of today’s New York Times, and I have marked three objects on this picture (with a red-rectangle) which I shall be removing using Nuke Anything:

Now, see the following picture, after I removed the above three objects from the web page:

You can immediately notice that Nuke Anything does its work quite nicely. In this way, you can remove any object or part of the web page, one by one, and then take the print of the page without showing those objects.
(2) Remove several objects together by selecting them:
Nuke Anything also allows you to remove / hide multiple objects simultaneously. For this purpose, select several objects / parts of the web page as you would normally do using mouse/keyboard. Now right-click anywhere on the selected parts and the context menu will appear; this time, the menu will show the command Remove selection which is the command meant for Nuke Anything (see the following image):

Now, if you click on the Remove selection command on the context menu, all the selected objects / items will be removed simultaneously from the web page in one go.
(3) Remove everything else on a web page other than the selected part:
Nuke Anything also allows you to retain just a few selected objects / items on the web page and remove / hide everything else. It can be a useful feature if you want to take a print of only a few selected items of your interest on the web page. The method is similar to the one used above. Select those objects / parts of the web page which you want to retain, using mouse/keyboard. Now right-click anywhere on the selected parts and the context menu will appear; this time, you’ll have to click on the command Remove everything else which is the relevant command for Nuke Anything to remove everything else from the web page except the selected objects (see the following image):

Now, if you click on the Remove everything else command on the context menu, all the selected objects / items will be retained and everything else on the web page will get removed in one go!!!
How to undo removal of an object?
Nuke Anything allows you to undo removal of a single object only which you have removed the last. This means that if you have removed a single object from the web page in the last operation, Nuke Anything can undo that and restore that object. However, only one action can be undone. And, moreover, if you have removed multiple objects together in the last operation, then you cannot undo that operation and restore them.
However, as I mentioned in the beginning of this article, Nuke Anything does not remove or hide any object(s) from the web page permanently, it removes them only temporarily. Therefore, if you refresh the web page, the full web page will again be displayed in Firefox without any object having been removed. The above “undo” operation in Nuke Anything is useful if you have removed 10-15 objects one-by-one and now want to restore the last object removed instead of refreshing the full page again.
To undo the last removal operation of a single object, right-click anywhere on the web page. The context menu will appear and one of the relevant commands is Undo last remove (see the image below):

Click on this Undo last remove command, and the last removed (single) object will be restored.
Print the web page without including the removed / hidden objects:
One of best uses of Nuke Anything is that once you have removed certain objects / items from a web page, you can take its print (using the normal printing procedure) which will now exclude the removed objects from the print. Thus, if you want to take a clean print of a web page without showing images or the side-bar or menu items, etc., remove / hide those items from the web page using Nuke Anything and take the print as you would normally do. You’ll get a clean print now without showing those removed / hidden objects.
Nuke Anything has thus got some useful features. You can try it if you want to take advantage of these features. But, remember, Nuke Anything will work only with Firefox browser. Of course, it will run on any machine which can run Firefox, whether it be Windows, Mac or Linux.
