Private, safe and anonymous browsing with Hotspot Shield

Hotspot Shield allows you to have privacy, security and anonymity on Internet while using wi-fi While using wi-fi to connect to the Internet, people generally feel insecure. This feeling of insecurity is more pronounced when you’re connecting to a wi-fi hotspot at some public place such as a restaurant, airport, hotel, etc. There is always a possibility that some hackers may try to get to know about your online activities including your user names and passwords. Hotspot Shield is a free application which tries to make your web surfing private, secure and anonymous. It can work on wireless and wired connections alike.

Hotspot Shield hides your IP address while you’re online, which implies anonymous Internet usage and thus help secure your privacy. It claims to allow you to access even blocked Web sites, access all content without censorship and bypass firewalls. It will encrypt all communications to and from your computer to protect you from online spying. It may protect you from snoopers at Wi-Fi hotspots, hotels, airports, corporate offices and ISP hubs. However, be aware that Hotspot Shield may show you some ads but the program may continue working even if the ads are closed. Also consider during installation whether to install a toolbar that it tries to install which may lead to ads; Hotspot Shield may work even without that toolbar.

This program will work on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. And, as I mentioned earlier, Hotspot Shield is a free program; however, it is an adware and may show you ads.
