When you type your user name and password in a browser for accessing your online account, which could be your bank account or email account or other important account, there is KeyScrambler Personal - protect passwords typed in browsers from secret keyloggers always a lurking risk that some spyware or keyloggers might secretly be recording your keystrokes. Thus, your confidential data such as passwords, bank details, or even the addresses of the websites typed by you in your browser could possibly be stolen and misused. There have been many such cases all over the world when unscrupulous persons have withdrawn money from bank accounts of others or misused the credit card information of others by secretly recording their passwords through hidden key-logging software. KeyScrambler Personal is a free software which can protect you from such stealthy keyloggers and spyware which secretly record your passwords and other important information typed by you in your browser on the computer.

KeyScrambler Personal supports three browsers, namely, Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Flock. It will protect your confidential information being stolen from these browsers when you type such information in them while visiting online shopping sites, accessing your web email (through Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, etc.), using yours credit cards online, accessing your bank accounts online, typing web addresses, or typing other information in Java, Flash and other browser dialogs boxes, browser master passwords, etc. In short, whatever you type in any of these three browsers is protected by KeyScrambler Personal.

Other browsers, such as Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc., are not supported in KeyScrambler Personal, which is the free version of the software. However, KeyScrambler Professional and KeyScrambler Premium versions will also support other browsers, many email clients such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird; and, moreover, they will also support many other Windows applications. However, these two other versions are not free and you’ll have to purchase the license for using them. You can check more details from the developer’s website.

When you install the free version KeyScrambler Personal on your computer, it will check for the presence of the above three supported browsers on your computer, and will accordingly install the necessary modules / add-ons to protect your keystrokes in these browsers. Please follow the on-screen directions for installing the software.

KeyScrambler Personal works at the kernel driver level to protect what you type from keyloggers and encrypts your keystrokes. It will protect everything that is typed in these browsers, including that in all login forms, dialogs, online shopping, web-mail, forums, etc.

When you type on your keyboard, the keystrokes are recorded by the operating system which then sends these keys to the target program such as a browser. The spying software such as keyloggers plant themselves along this path and trap your keystrokes and read them before they reach the target program on the computer. Such secretly collected information can then be sent to the unscrupulous persons through a secret email or some other secret form who can then misuse that information.

KeyScrambler Personal software prevents these stealthy keyloggers from your stealing your typed information by encrypting the keystrokes typed by you at the keyboard driver level, deep within the operating system. Therefore, these keystrokes cannot be understood by the secret keyloggers even if they can intercept such information. Subsequently, when these encrypted keystrokes reach your browser from the operating system, KeyScrambler Personal will decrypt them at the browser level for its use and also so that you can see what exactly were the keys that you had typed. Therefore, Keyloggers can only record the encrypted keys, which cannot be deciphered. In this manner, your confidential data typed by you in the browser is protected and cannot be stolen.

Since KeyScrambler works at the keyboard driver level, it can protect you from both known and unknown keyloggers. It is an easy to operate software. It will sit in your system tray (which is usually at the bottom-right corner of your computer screen). Just ensure that this software is on and not off when you are typing something in the browser. However, if you so wish, you can turn it off when you are not typing some confidential information in your browser, and turn it on only when you type some confidential information such as passwords, etc.

When you start a supported browser (such as Firefox or Internet Explorer), KeyScrambler will automatically be turned on and will sit in the system tray. When you start typing something in the browser, it will keep showing you how the keys typed by you have been encrypted by it by displaying them in a small overlay window which will disappear on its own (see image below).

KeyScrambler will display information about your keystrokes which were encrypted by it
