You may like the speed of Google Chrome and may be using it for most of your browsing requirements. But, there are some odd sites that would need Internet Explorer to run properly. However, now, with extensions enabled for Chrome, you won’t have to start Internet Explorer for running that odd website. You can run Internet Explorer from within a tab in Chrome and then visit that site in that tab. So, you can get best of the two worlds. Use IE Tab, an extension that can make it possible. It saves your desktop space, saves the trouble of starting a new program, and is convenient to use.
This IE Tab extension will allow you to visit such sites, that require Internet Explorer to run, from Chrome itself without leaving it. This extension can also be useful for web developers who want to test the IE rendering engine, for users who visit websites with ActiveX controls, and users who want to use the explorer view for local files (i.e., “file://” type URLs).

If the web page that you want to view in IE is already open in a tab in Chrome, simply click on the IE Tab icon on the toolbar, Internet Explorer will open in a new tab in Chrome and that web page will open in that tab. So, you can have the advantage of viewing that web page in IE from within the Google Chrome itself.
You can also click on the IE Tab icon in a new tab in Chrome and the Internet Explorer will start in that tab and the IE address bar appearing there can be used for visiting the websites of your choice. Have a look at www.microsoft.com site running in the IE Tab in Chrome in the following figure:

You can also configure Auto URLs using this extension, that will then be displayed automatically using the IE in a Chrome tab. Auto URLs are basically wildcard filters that you can set using this extension, such as “file://*” or “http://www.example.com/*”, etc. You can easily set these options.
