Got sick of seeing the same picture as desktop background on your Microsoft Windows computer? Of course, you can change the background picture in your Windows and set a different picture as desktop background. But, if you’ve Windows 7 on your laptop / computer, then you’ve a much better solution. You can use a slide show of your chosen pictures as desktop background in Windows 7; and these pictures will automatically keep changing at a pre-set time interval chosen by you, varying anywhere from 10 seconds to several hours. Moreover, you can also choose the option for random shuffling of pictures in the slide show so that your desktop background pictures will change automatically in a random order from amongst the pictures chosen by you in the slide show.
To create a wallpaper background slide show in your Windows 7, proceed as under:
(1) Collect all the pictures that you want to include in your slide show for the desktop background. Put all these pictures in a single folder.
(2) Open Desktop Background by clicking on the Start button and clicking Control Panel. In the search box, enter “desktop background”, and then click on Change desktop background from the search results.
(3) Confirm if the pictures that you want to use are available in the list of desktop background pictures. If not, click on the Picture location list to view other categories. Or else, click on Browse button to locate the folder where you’ve put the pictures chosen by you.
(4) Once the folder containing your selected pictures is open, by default, all of the pictures in that folder are selected and will form part of the slide show for the desktop background. If you don’t want to include all of the pictures in the folder in your slide show, then you can select the check box for each picture that you want to include in the slide show. Or, you can clear the check box for each picture that you don’t want to include in the slide show. Press the Ctrl key, and then click each picture that you want to remove from the slide show. In this manner, you can specify which pictures in the folder will form part of the slide show.
Please remember that you must choose at least two pictures to create a slide show of pictures. If you choose just one picture, the chosen picture will become the desktop background and there will not be any slide show.
Another interesting feature of slide show is that if all the pictures in the folder are selected for the slide show, then whenever in future you add any new pictures to that folder, they will get added to the slide show automatically.
(5) You can select to position the pictures on the desktop in various styles. You can select the option for the pictures to fill the screen, stretch the pictures to fit the screen, tile the pictures, or center the pictures on the screen.
(6) You can also select the time interval after which the slide show will change pictures. For doing this, click an option from “Change picture every” list. You can select the time interval from 10 seconds to several hours.
(7) If you don’t want to show the pictures in the slide show in any particular order, select the Shuffle check box to display the pictures in a random order.
(8) Finally, click on Save changes.
Your slide show for the desktop background wallpaper is ready to run on Windows 7 now! The background image will now change automatically after the pre-set time interval as selected by you.
